In this work I have drawn my own image in the medium of soft pastel. Using this medium I allows me to work freely through a process of observation, mark making and correction to create the final image through the accumulation of line and colour on the page. I am often struck by the fall of light and shadow in the things I draw and paint, and this self-portrait is no exception.
