It was Tim Winton's novel, The Eye of the Sky, that initially inspired this painting. When I look towards the sky I experience the rhythm of the clouds and the orchestra of shapes, colours and textures . Pre-painted tissue paper and the use of plastic scrapers helped me to approximate the texture, patterns and tonal contrasts of sky.
